My name is Karen Tait and I’m the Founder of The Residence Coworking …. and here’s three fun facts you won’t know about me 😊
✔ I’m a massive football fan, I blame my Dad for my youth standing on the terraces of Blackburn Rovers, but at least I was lucky enough to see the SAS season when we won the Premiership!
✔ I’m left-handed and my mum was always convinced that my brain was in back-to-front, cheek!
✔ When I left home I came to the bright lights of London to live with my Auntie who was a private GP and we lived on the Kings Road. We called Harrods our ‘local shop’ and were often hanging out in Stringfellows 😂
My career started with a boutique firm of Interior Designers, which led to working for Sir Norman Forster and then into Investment Banking where I spent 15 years. I’m passionate about this industry I *stumbled* into six years ago after leaving the bright lights of London and a stable corporate career, to follow my own path… Never once when I left my *job* did I think, where will I work, it was just a given, that I would be at home, well guess what, that SUCKS after a while…. it’s lonely, it’s isolating, it’s boring and in general it’s just not good for your WORK | LIFE | BALANCE ❤️ The pandemic has changed working habits in a way we would just would never have imagined!
Many of us are not missing the commute and instead are rediscovering our local areas and amenities BUT we still want inspiration, feel-good vibes, positive environments to produce our best work ❤️ If there is one thing that this pandemic has taught us, is that we all need to be part of a community, where one of the main human needs is connection and belonging. If you forced me to talk about *achievements* I guess it’s been taking an empty shell of a building, bringing it to life, filling it with wonderful people, and loving going to work every single day, oh and making a profit 🤣
Flexible work space, including desk, private offices and meeting rooms!
